Whether you are living in a KUMMUNI co-living space or a fully furnished apartment, your monthly rent is designed to cover almost every essential cost. This comprehensive approach ensures that you can enjoy your living space without worrying about additional expenses that are commonly associated with renting an unfurnished apartment.
What Your Rent Covers #
Your monthly rent includes a wide range of costs, eliminating the need for you to manage separate bills or worry about fluctuating utility prices. Hereโs what is covered:
- Furniture and Equipment:
Your rent covers all the furniture, equipment, and appliances provided in the apartment, ensuring that you have everything you need from day one. - All Utilities:
The cost of utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and heating is included in your rent. This means you wonโt receive separate bills for these services. - Trash Disposal:
Waste management services, including trash disposal, are also covered. - Common Area Cleaning:
Regular cleaning of common areas, such as hallways and shared spaces, is included in your rent. (Building not the apartment) - Gardening and Facility Support:
Maintenance of outdoor spaces and general facility support are part of your monthly rent. - Repairs and Associated Costs:
Basic repair services and associated costs are covered, ensuring that the property is well-maintained. However, please note that any damages caused by tenants are not covered and may incur additional costs, as outlined in your contract.
Additional Considerations #
While your rent covers most costs, there are a few additional expenses that you should be aware of:
Is Internet Included?
No, internet service is not included in the rent. However, we provide free internet access in all of our properties, so you wonโt need to arrange for a separate internet connection.
Is the Radio Tax (Rundfunkbeitrag) Included?
No, the radio tax is not included in your rent.
What is the Radio Tax? #
In Germany, the radio tax, known as Rundfunkbeitrag, is a mandatory fee that every household must pay to support public broadcasting services. The current rate for the radio tax is approximately โฌ18.36 per month per household. This fee applies whether or not you actually use a radio or television.
Why KUMMUNI Doesn’t Pay the Radio Tax?
By law, the radio tax is the responsibility of the tenant who is registered at the address, not the landlord. This means that as a tenant, you are required to pay the radio tax directly. The landlord cannot include this fee in your rent or pay it on your behalf, as it is tied to your personal registration at the property.
