We understand that personalizing your living space is important—especially when you’re staying for several months. At KUMMUNI, we want you to feel at home. That’s why tenants are allowed to add their own furniture to the apartment, provided a few important conditions are met to maintain cleanliness, safety, and fairness for the next tenant.
Yes, You Can Add Furniture—Within Reason #
You’re more than welcome to bring in additional furniture, such as a small bookshelf, a side table, or even a decorative chair. As long as your items complement the space and don’t damage the property, you’re free to make the apartment feel like your own. However, this doesn’t mean you can remove or replace the furniture we’ve already provided.
Each KUMMUNI apartment comes furnished with every pieces. These items are part of our inventory and must remain in the apartment at all times. Swapping them out or removing them is not permitted.
Hygiene Protocol: No Second-Hand Furniture Allowed #
To protect all tenants from issues like bedbugs, mold, and dust mites, we follow a strict hygiene protocol. For this reason, second-hand furniture is not allowed in any KUMMUNI apartment. Even if it appears clean or well-kept, used furniture can carry hidden hygiene risks that impact the safety and comfort of the apartment for you and future tenants.
We highly recommend that any furniture you bring in is new, sealed, or professionally cleaned. Our facility team has the right to reject any item that doesn’t comply with our standards.
No Drilling or Structural Changes #
You may place additional furniture freely in the apartment, but you are not allowed to drill into the walls, floors, or ceiling. This includes mounting bookshelves, installing wall-mounted TVs, or hanging heavy decorations that require anchors. Our goal is to maintain the structural integrity and aesthetic quality of the apartment for all tenants.
If any unauthorized drilling or alterations are found during your move-out inspection, you may be charged for repairs.
Don’t Leave Your Furniture Behind #
Just as you’re allowed to bring in personal furniture, you’re also fully responsible for removing it when you move out.
Leaving your items behind is strictly against our policy. According to your contract, any personal belongings left in the apartment after your move-out date will result in additional charges to cover logistics, removal, and recycling. These costs are often higher than expected, especially when handled on short notice or outside regular hours.
To avoid unnecessary fees:
-
Arrange for furniture pickup in advance.
-
Leave enough time to clean and empty the apartment completely.
-
Double-check closets, storage spaces, and balconies before handing over the keys.
