At KUMMUNI, we recognize that pets bring immense joy and companionship to many people’s lives. However, due to the specific nature of our properties, whether it’s a CoLiving space or a private apartment, we have established a strict no-pet policy. This decision ensures that all tenants can enjoy a clean, well-maintained, and allergy-free environment, which is particularly important in shared and fully furnished living spaces.
Why Pets Are Not Allowed #
There are several reasons why we have implemented this no-pet policy across all KUMMUNI properties, including both CoLiving spaces and private apartments:
- Protection of Furnished Spaces:
All KUMMUNI properties are fully furnished with carefully selected items designed to enhance the living experience of our tenants. Pets, while loving and adorable, can cause wear and tear or even damage to furniture, flooring, and other fixtures. This could lead to costly repairs and replacements, disrupting the quality of the living environment for current and future tenants. - Hygiene and Cleanliness:
Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness is a top priority at KUMMUNI. Pets can introduce allergens, odors, and messes that may not align with the hygienic standards we strive to uphold. Even with the best care, pets can shed hair, track in dirt, or have accidents, all of which can impact the cleanliness and comfort of the space. - Consideration for Other Tenants:
In both CoLiving and private apartments, it’s important to consider the well-being of all tenants. Some tenants may have allergies or phobias related to animals, and the presence of a pet could negatively impact their living experience. Our goal is to provide a peaceful and welcoming environment for everyone, and allowing pets could compromise this objective.
Consequences of Violating the No-Pet Policy #
Bringing a pet into a KUMMUNI property is a serious violation of our rental agreement and can lead to significant consequences:
- Immediate Termination of Tenancy:
If a tenant is found to be keeping a pet in their KUMMUNI apartment, this can result in the immediate termination of their tenancy. The notice period for such termination may be very short, as outlined in our rental agreements. - Liability for Damages:
Tenants who violate the no-pet policy will be held financially responsible for any damage caused by the pet. This includes, but is not limited to, damage to furniture, floors, walls, and any other part of the property. Additionally, tenants will be required to cover the cost of professional cleaning services to restore the apartment to its original condition. - Potential Additional Costs:
In addition to the immediate costs associated with damage and cleaning, tenants may also face additional charges if the presence of a pet leads to a longer vacancy period for the apartment due to necessary repairs and cleaning.
