Hosting guests in a CoLiving space can be a wonderful way to share your living experience with close friends or relatives. However, it’s important to understand and follow the guidelines set by KUMMUNI to ensure that everyone in the apartment feels comfortable and respected.
Inviting Guests: What You Need to Know #
- KUMMUNI’s Permission Required:
Unlike some other CoLiving providers, KUMMUNI recognizes that tenants might want to invite guests occasionally. While we do not accept sleepovers, we do allow visits from relatives and close friends from time to time. However, you must first inform KUMMUNI and obtain permission before inviting a guest. Additionally, you must also obtain approval from the majority of your flatmates. Only after receiving permission from both your flatmates and KUMMUNI can your guest stay. - Guest Behavior and Liability:
Your guest’s actions are considered your responsibility. This means that your guest must adhere to all of KUMMUNI’s policies and house rules during their visit. Any violation by your guest will be treated as if you committed the violation yourself, which could impact your tenancy. This includes the potential of not having your lease extended or even facing termination of your rental agreement.
How Long Can a Guest Stay? #
- For Apartments with One Flatmate:
If you are living with only one other flatmate, you can invite a guest for up to 15 days per year. - For Apartments with Multiple Flatmates:
If you are living in an apartment with more than one flatmate, you can have a guest for up to 4 days per year.
Cleaning and Chore Responsibilities: #
- Guest Cleaning Responsibilities:
Although your guest is not required to participate in the regular cleaning duties, you will be responsible for any additional cleaning required due to their presence. This means you might need to adjust the chore chart and take on extra cleaning duties to compensate for the additional person in the apartment.
Why These Rules Are Important #
At KUMMUNI, we strive to create a fair and harmonious living environment for all tenants. These rules help maintain a balance between allowing personal freedom and ensuring that the rights and comfort of all flatmates are respected. By following these guidelines, you help contribute to a positive CoLiving experience where everyone feels at home.
Community Support Notice: #
KUMMUNI supports a positive community living environment. If you wish to host a guest, ensure you have the necessary permissions from both KUMMUNI and your flatmates. Remember, your guest’s behavior is your responsibility, and any issues arising from their visit could impact your tenancy. We encourage you to communicate openly with your flatmates and address any concerns before they escalate. Creating a ticket should be the last option if issues arise, as we cannot guarantee desired outcomes through our community management solutions. We do not tolerate unfairness in our CoLiving spaces.
