The return of your deposit can be followed up at the KUMMUNI Support Centre. To do so:
- Select Finance as the department
- choose I’m currently not a tenant of KUMMUNI
- select the option related to following up with the returning process.
Please keep in mind that we can only review a follow-up ticket if the initial ticket was submitted at least two months ago. Please bear in mind according to the law, the landlord can hold the security deposit for 6 months. However, if you have handed over the property in order, you didn’t receive any Mahnung or Abmahnung during your tenancy, you don’t have any over-due rent and you don’t have a Nachzalung (Over consumption,) your deposit will return to your bank account within 2 months after submitting the request for return on a deposit.
However, if a deposit wasn’t transferred within 60 to 70 days and you believe there was no breach of contract, nor damages caused by you, we appreciate it if you submit a follow-up ticket so our colleagues can review the issue as soon as possible.
Please note that if you have stayed in our property for more than six months and have requested an extension, the process of returning your deposit may take longer. This is because we need to ensure that there have been no breaches of the Green Lease Agreement and that energy consumption during your stay was reasonable. To verify this, we must wait for the property owner to provide the exact energy consumption details, which are only made available to us once a year.
