At KUMMUNI, receiving your keys is an important step in the move-in process, ensuring that everything is properly documented and secured. Here’s how the process works:
Receiving Your Keys #
You will receive your keys after you have signed the move-in handover protocol with your KUMMUNI agent. This step is crucial as it ensures that the condition of the property is accurately recorded before you take possession.
Upon signing the handover protocol, you will be provided with:
- Key to the Main Entrance:
This key grants you access to the main entrance of the building. - Key to Your Apartment:
This key allows you to enter your specific apartment. - Mailbox Key:
The mailbox key is a shared key between you and your flatmates, giving you access to the shared mailbox for your apartment. - Key to Your Room (For CoLiving Spaces):
If you are living in a CoLiving space provided by KUMMUNI, you will also receive a key to your individual room.
In some cases, a master key may be used for both the main entrance and your apartment. Your agent will explain this to you during the handover.
Documentation and Protocol #
During the handover, your agent will take a photo of the keys provided to you. This photo will be attached to the move-in handover protocol, serving as a record of the keys you received. If any keys are shared between you and your flatmates, this will also be noted in the protocol.
Can I Receive the Keys Before the Handover? #
Unfortunately, we do not offer the option to receive keys before the handover. The handover protocol is a necessary step to ensure that both parties agree on the condition of the property before keys are handed over.
However, if you are a long-term tenant of KUMMUNI and are relocating to a new property within our network, we may be able to arrange for you to receive your keys earlier to move your personal belongings. This option is generally available for private apartments, but if you are relocating to a shared apartment, we cannot accommodate early key handover due to legal concerns.
