When applying for a KUMMUNI property, whether it’s a private apartment or a shared CoLiving space, it is crucial to provide the correct documentation to ensure a smooth and efficient application process. Below is a list of the required documents, along with important notes to keep in mind when preparing your submission.
Required Documents #
- Purpose of Stay:
- Employment Agreement: If you are employed, provide your employment contract as proof of your purpose for staying.
- Admission Letter: If you are a student, include your university or school admission letter.
- Proof of Income:
- Last 3 Months of Bank Statements: These documents are necessary to show your financial stability.
- Blocked Account or Similar Documentation: For international students or non-EU residents, a blocked account or equivalent proof of financial means is required.
- ID Scan:
- ID Card (for EU Citizens): A scan of your national ID card.
- Passport and Visa (for Non-EU Citizens): A scan of your passport along with a valid visa.
- SCHUFA Credit Report:
- Optional for New Residents: If you have been in Germany for less than 2 years, providing a SCHUFA report is optional but beneficial if available.
- Mandatory for Long-Term Residents: If you have been in Germany for over 2 years, providing a SCHUFA credit report is mandatory.
- Mietschuldenfreiheitsbescheinigung (Rent Debt-Free Certificate):
- Required if in Germany for Over 8 Months: This document, which proves you do not have any outstanding rent debts, is necessary if you have been residing in Germany for over 8 months.
Important Notes for Document Submission #
- Format:
All documents must be submitted in PDF format. KUMMUNI does not accept documents in other formats (such as screenshots or images), and submitting them in the wrong format may result in the rejection of your application. - Completeness:
Ensure that all documents are complete and signed where necessary. Incomplete documents will not be accepted. - Zip File Submission:
Combine all required documents into a single zip file for submission. This helps streamline the review process and ensures that nothing is missed. Ensure the zip file size is reasonable to avoid upload issues. - Document Size:
Be mindful of the file size when creating your zip file. Maximum 15 MB.
