If you’re considering relocating to a different apartment within the KUMMUNI ecosystem—whether you want to upgrade, downgrade, or simply move to a different neighborhood or city—we’ve got you covered. Our booking department offers flexible relocating solutions to accommodate your needs. Here’s how you can make the move and what to expect.
Steps to Relocate to a New Apartment #
- Create a Ticket via myKUMMUNI:
To start the relocation process, simply create a ticket through the myKUMMUNI app. Follow these steps:- Open the myKUMMUNI App
- Select the Booking Department
- Choose “Relocating”
- Provide Your Preferences:
When creating your ticket, specify your maximum budget and the earliest time you would like to relocate. Also, include any preferences regarding the type of apartment or location you are interested in. Our team will work to find an option that best fits your needs.
What Happens Next? #
Once your ticket is submitted, our booking department will review your request and search for available apartments that match your criteria. We do not list all our properties online because many tenants decide to relocate for various reasons. This means we often have alternatives ready for you that may not be publicly advertised.
Understanding the Costs #
The cost* of the new apartment primarily and most of the times depends on the size of the property. Factors like the floor level or the view do not influence the price. We will strive to offer you something similar to your previous place if that is your preference. However, it’s important to note:
- Special Promotion Pricing:
If you initially signed your contract during one of our special promotion events and received a lower-than-normal rate, we might not be able to offer the same price for your new apartment for obvious reasons.
What About the Security Deposit? #
When relocating to a new apartment, the security deposit for the new lease may vary. Here’s how it works:
- If the New Deposit is Lower:
If the security deposit for the new apartment is lower than your current lease, you will be refunded the difference. However, please note that this process might take some time, as returning a deposit can be a time-consuming process. - If the New Deposit is Higher:
If the security deposit for the new apartment is 20% higher than your current deposit, you will need to pay the difference before moving into the new apartment. However, if you have completed your initial tenancy with us (having stayed at least 6 months in a KUMMUNI apartment), you may be eligible to pay the deposit difference later, based on an agreement with your agent. - If the Deposit is the Same:
If the deposit amount is the same for both the old and new apartments, we will simply transfer your existing deposit to the new contract.
Important Considerations #
- Consent for Deposit Transfer:
We require your consent to transfer your deposit from one rental contract to another. - New Agreements
You need to agree that if any issues are discovered later in your previous lease that require coverage by the deposit and cannot be covered by your insurance, you will be responsible for paying these costs separately.
* Please note that relocating from one city to another within the KUMMUNI ecosystem may involve different costs, as each city has its own unique pricing structure. This means that rental rates, security deposits, and other associated fees can vary significantly depending on the location.
